Just ask Allison Lau:
“Saying Make Writing Your Job has changed my life is not an exaggeration. I landed my first paid writing gig off MWYJ — I pitched Business Insider and pretty much wrote up my weekly grocery list for $250. Mind-blowing.
I’ve since become a regular contributor to Business Insider, found my first 5-figure editorial client via a MWYJ featured job, and have launched my own Substack, which is on its way to bringing in 4 figures before the end of the year.
Beyond the direct opportunities MWYJ has provided, I’ve completely leveled up my editorial and ghostwriting business using the tips, tricks, and wisdom Amy provides via ClassStack, the MWYJ archive, and Amy’s two books (Six-Figure Freelance Writer and Write for Money and Power).
If you’re ready to make the jump and invest in yourself, Make Writing Your Job is your ticket to freedom.”

Or Ben:
“I just started my first book ghostwriting gig, and I got it by applying on your job board! Thanks for doing what you do. Your job board is one of the best in the business, and your emails are all so relatable -- I've made writing my job since 2010 and it's a dream-come-true life with great money, complete flexibility, and frequent international travel. I have 15+ years of experience as a freelance content ghostwriter for executives, but this will be my first book. I've been trying to get my foot in the door as a book ghostwriter for a little while; this project will be a huge help to get my first book under my belt.”
Or Corinne:
“As an editor of narrative nonfiction and poetry, I was recently able to connect with a new client and creative collaborator through Amy's job board. I spotted a listing that sounded like an incredible project, combining a number of different narrative approaches that are in my skill set. I applied and, within a week, I was able to meet with the client, hear more about her project, and talk to her about where I could fit into her process; after our first conversation, she hired me. If you're working on a manuscript, too, feel free to reach out — I'd love to hear about it!” –Corinne

✨ Why We Built This: Meet the Founders Amy Suto & Kyle Cords

Hi! We’re co-founders, partners, and writers Amy Suto and Kyle Cords.
We both started in Hollywood as TV writers before realizing the system wasn’t working for us. So, we started traveling the world, building cool things with friends, and finding new ways to serve writers.
Amy Suto built her 7-figure freelancing career over the course of 10 years, and has done content writing, copywriting, memoir ghostwriting, developmental editing, and the odd story about magical dolphins for a tech company (don’t ask.) She’s also the bestselling author of three books, and her newest book Write for Money and Power comes out this January. She teaches live classes for Make Writing Your Job members and you can watch them in the archives of ClassStack. She also runs the Founding Member quarterly mastermind group. Amy also shares her writing tips and Substack growth tips over at her personal Substack, Sutoscience.
Kyle Cords is the writer and creator behind the cult hit scripted podcast The Horror at Martin’s Beach. He’s a seasoned book developmental editor, but these days is focused on building tech companies with his technical collaborators. You can download his movie recommendation app OmList in the app store for both iPhone and Android. At ✍️ Make Writing Your Job, his focus is on the behind-the-scenes systems that keep everything running smoothly. You can hear Kyle’s thoughts about being a founder, current events, and what he’s watching and reading over at his personal Substack, FounderCore.
✍️ Make Writing Your Job is built by writers, for writers. And we can’t wait to share what we’ve built for you:
