Just showing up and not having any expectation is really good advice, but I'm finding that difficult right now. Got a gruesome case of imposter syndrome at the moment, in many areas of life, not just writing. But whenever I put pen to paper everything that comes out seems laboured and mediocre. So that's putting me off from starting and then pushing on. Hopefully I've had a breakthrough today though and might get something done for tomorrow.
I also think there's something magical about going for a walk and getting some movement in. I've always found that I write better when I'm sticking to my workouts and going to the gym and getting 10,000 steps in -- it really helps the mental side of writing!

Totally. I feel like doing some creativity exercises helps as well to unblock and get out of your head -- here's a post I wrote with some of those: https://open.substack.com/pub/fromthedeskofamysuto/p/diary-of-an-author-14-exercises-to?r=20ydhy&utm_campaign=post&utm_medium=web
