Do you have people pay half in advance for some projects? Or are you entirely paid after?

It's usually helpful to get a nonrefundable upfront deposit for any project (hourly or fixed rate!) and to get payments ahead of the milestones. (i.e. if writing a draft is going to cost $25k, that payment is made upon commencement of the drafting step.) This can help protect you. Let me know if that makes sense! I also break down different ways to bill in my book if you haven't already read it: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0BX2STG4P?ref_=pe_3052080_276849420

Thanks so much! That makes sense. If that industry standard to ask for that?

It depends on what niche you're talking about! There are no industry standards for ghostwriting (as it's a pretty confidential business) and back when I did copywriting and content writing my clients were down to do any payment schedule I asked for. So I wouldn't worry too much about "the norm."
