Welcome to Writerly Wednesdays — my new every-other-week series where I open up a thread with my community to chat about what you’re up to.
Today’s question: what’s the biggest challenge you’re working through right now? This could be related to writing, life, or something else.
For me, I’m a bit blocked on my Nomad Detective series I’ve been working on since February. I’m trying to parse through some notes I’ve received — some glowing, some illuminating opportunities to improve the story — and figure out the best path forward.
Would love to hear what you’re working on, go ahead and leave a comment in today’s thread :)
For me it's getting to the end of my first draft of my first novel. 53k words in and the end is in sight. Then it's the fun part of editing and rewriting :D
I stopped my 7 year copywriting career in December, and I feel the call to write some personal essays and articles but I'm having a hard time getting started!!
Getting started is the hardest part! I find so much inspiration from wandering around all the personal essays here on Substack -- it's cool to see all the different ways people approach the personal essay.
For me it’s finding time to get in everything I want to do with everything I have to do. I’m just trying not to burn myself out with it all.
Avoiding burnout is so critical. I'm excited to read through your new blog post you sent me!
Finally starting to submit an essay I've been revising for a looong time. So my biggest challenge now is waiting. 🙃
That's awesome, congrats!!

Wow, congrats! That's a huge accomplishment :)
Wow, congrats on that!!
My biggest challenge is managing my time, especially on days when I’m tired.

Finding the time to do things when I’m motivated AND finding the motivation to go things when I have time. Things move forward but it’s a struggle.
Currently, planning out the roadmap for my business, and how my newsletter will support that.
Loved your most recent newsletter on branding, good stuff!
Thank you Amy! :)
I've been stuck on the last 5 chapters of my novel. My editor is excited to read it, I'm excited to finish, yet I haven't.
